Triple-A has reported that drivers traveling during the Easter holiday season should anticipate fluctuating gas prices across the Carolinas. According to AAA, gas prices in North Carolina decreased by 1 cent overnight, but drivers express the need for further reductions.

During interviews at gas stations, several drivers voiced their concerns about the high gas prices. Joe Daniels, a driver, commented, “I think it’s pretty high,” while Majuanna Spencer stated, “These prices are extremely too high.” AAA’s Director of Public Affairs, Tiffany Wright, highlighted that gas prices have risen by 10–15 cents across the Carolinas compared to the previous year.

Wright attributed the price surge to increased demand, particularly as temperatures rise, leading to more people embarking on road trips. She emphasized the importance of drivers seeking out the best deals and lower gas prices amidst the current scenario.

For individuals like Joe Daniels and Majuanna Spencer, the spike in gas prices has posed financial challenges. Spencer, who drives a V8, described her vehicle as a gas guzzler, while Daniels emphasized the impact on students in the area, stating, “We’re a college town, and I feel like students shouldn’t be paying this high of prices.”

As the Easter travel season unfolds, the advice from AAA is to remain vigilant in searching for cost-effective gas prices and to be mindful of the fluctuating fuel costs across the region.
