Five-star senior Liam McNeeley decommits from Indiana, considering multiple schools

Five-star senior Liam McNeeley, the No. 16 ranked player in the country, sent shockwaves through the industry when he opted to decommit from Indiana and request his release from his National Letter of Intent. Currently focusing on his final high school basketball season, McNeeley aims for an undefeated season and a Chipotle Nationals Championship with Montverde (Fla.) Academy.

During the 247Sports College Basketball Show, the most recent intel around McNeeley, his future plans, and the schools he has been in contact with since his release on March 13th were discussed. Rumors suggest that Kansas is a potential destination for McNeeley, but he remains open in his recruitment, planning to take his time in the process and possibly schedule official visits after Chipotle Nationals. Other schools in contact with McNeeley include UConn, Kentucky, Gonzaga, Houston, Tennessee, Auburn, and Florida.

McNeeley is taking a patient approach to his recruitment and will delve deeper into the process in the coming weeks after the conclusion of Chipotle Nationals. Where he will ultimately commit remains uncertain, but time will tell as his recruitment unfolds.

In another March Madness upset, the 2024 NCAA Tournament witnessed Oakland, the South Region’s No. 14 seed, secure a remarkable 80-76 victory over No. 3-seed Kentucky. The unexpected result reverberated through the college basketball world, marking the tournament’s first major upset.
