First Survivor Contestant Voted Off, Sonja Christopher, Passes Away at 87

Sonja Christopher, the first contestant to be voted off in Season 1 of Survivor, has passed away at the age of 87. The news was shared by current Survivor Season 46 contestant, Liz Wilcox. Christopher’s cause of death has not been disclosed.

Liz Wilcox, who had the opportunity to meet Sonja Christopher during Christmas, expressed her sadness over the news. She described Christopher as a legend with a lot of enthusiasm and love for Survivor. Wilcox shared a photo of their FaceTime conversation, reminiscing about the time spent with the late contestant.

Wilcox suggested that instead of sending flowers, donations could be made to organizations like Mt. Diablo Unitarian Universalist Church in Walnut Creek, California, the Cancer Support Community in SF, or the Sjogren’s Foundation.

Sonja Christopher participated in Survivor: Borneo in 2000 and was eliminated in the first week due to various challenges faced by her team.

The passing of Sonja Christopher marks a somber moment for the Survivor community, as fans remember her role in shaping the early seasons of the popular reality show.

Our thoughts are with Sonja Christopher’s loved ones during this difficult time.
