Yle, the Finnish broadcaster, has kicked off the annual tradition of hinting at the songs set to compete in UMK 2024, the national selection for Eurovision 2024. The first hints for the song titled ‘I Ain’t Scared No More’ have been released, creating anticipation among Eurovision fans.

The candidates for UMK 2024 will be unveiled on Wednesday, January 10, at 19:00 CET. The reveal will be broadcasted on Yle TV1, Yle Areena, and UMK’s official YouTube channel, with commentary in Finnish, Swedish, and English to cater to an international audience.

Following the grand reveal, the seven nominated songs will be released gradually from January 11 to January 19, building anticipation among fans. The grand finale of UMK 2024 in Tampere is scheduled for Saturday, February 10, at 20:00 CET.

Finland, a Eurovision Song Contest participant since 1961, has had its fair share of experiences in the competition. The country won the Eurovision Song Contest for the first time in 2006 with the song ‘Hard Rock Hallelujah’ by Lordi.
