FarCargo Welcomes First Aircraft, Boeing B757-223PCF N185AN, to its Fleet

FarCargo, the new cargo carrier from the Faroe Islands, has welcomed its first aircraft, the Boeing B757-223PCF N185AN (32379), on 17 January 2024. The aircraft arrived in Copenhagen and will undergo additional maintenance before being designated as SE-RLE.

Established in 2022 by Bakkafrost, the world’s largest salmon producer and fish exporter, FarCargo is set to operate between Billund, Faroe Islands, and Newark (NJ). In addition to transporting fish, the carrier will also handle cargo from other customers.

Initially, the aircraft will be included in the Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) of West Air Sweden, with plans to eventually apply for its own AOC.

FarCargo’s entry into the air cargo industry is a significant development, offering new transportation options for goods between the Faroe Islands and the United States. With the backing of Bakkafrost, the carrier is poised to make an impact in the market.
