Family Dollar Distribution Center in West Memphis, Arkansas, Set to Reopen After Rat Infestation

The Family Dollar Distribution Center in West Memphis, Arkansas, is preparing to reopen its doors after being closed in 2022 due to a severe rat infestation. The facility, which was hit with a $41 million fine by the FDA, is now undergoing extensive cleaning, renovation, and modernization.

Mayor Marco McClendon of West Memphis expressed enthusiasm about the center’s imminent reopening, stating that it will have a positive impact on the community. The revamped facility will be under new management, offering higher wages and a safer working environment.

Family Dollar is aiming to hire 600 workers at a competitive rate of $20 per hour. To facilitate the recruitment process, a job fair is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, April 3, at the ASU Mid-South Campus.

The re-opening of the Family Dollar Distribution Center is expected to provide a significant economic boost to the region, as it will not only create job opportunities but also contribute to the overall development of the community.
