The Fallout London mod, described as ‘DLC-sized,’ was originally scheduled for release on April 23. This date was strategically chosen to align with the series release and St George’s Day. However, Bethesda’s announcement of the next-gen update for Fallout 4 on April 25 forced Fallout London to postpone its release.
Carter speculated on the timing of Bethesda’s update, suggesting that it coincided with the release of a Fallout TV series. He emphasized the challenges faced by the Fallout London team due to the impending update, particularly the potential breakage of the Fallout 4 script extender.
The Fallout London team now faces the daunting task of adjusting their framework to ensure compatibility with the new update, leading to an indefinite delay in the project’s release. Carter highlighted the risk of years of work being jeopardized by Bethesda’s unexpected move.
