Exploring Meta Quest 3 Games and Apps in February 2024

This month, I’ve been exploring the world of Meta Quest 3 games and apps, and I’m excited to share my top recommendations for February 2024. While testing a VR fitness game for an upcoming experiment, I also delved into a VR 3DS emulator and the thrilling universe of Stranger Things.

If you’re on the lookout for more VR software suggestions, you can also check out the Meta Quest 3 games and apps I played in January 2024, including Wallace and Gromit in The Grand Getaway and a VR BlackPink concert. Additionally, our sister gaming site TRG features a comprehensive list of the best VR games.

CitraVR: The VR 3DS Emulator

One of the standout experiences this month was CitraVR, a VR 3DS emulator still in beta. To use it on your Quest headset, you’ll need to sideload it, but it’s definitely worth a try if you have a 3DS and legally dump ROMs. The best part? It’s free. However, not all 3DS ROMs run smoothly on CitraVR, and it may require some trial and error with settings.

While I generally prefer exclusive immersive titles on VR, CitraVR and the Xbox Game Pass VR app bring their own excitement. The prospect of more flatscreen gaming coming to Quest, particularly via emulation, is intriguing. Imagine enjoying classic PlayStation and GameCube games on a giant screen – a concept that would have blown my 8-year-old mind.

Stranger Things VR

As a fan of Stranger Things, I was naturally drawn to the VR experience based on the series. Despite initial concerns about spin-off projects, I found it to be a captivating addition to the Stranger Things universe. The immersive nature of the VR experience adds depth to the storyline, making it a meaningful extension of the beloved series.
