Excitel Broadband Introduces Amazon Prime Video as Part of Cable Cutter Plan

Excitel, the popular broadband service provider, has exciting news for its subscribers. The company has introduced a new OTT service in addition to its existing Cable Cutter Plan. Subscribers can now enjoy this new service at no extra cost, providing them with even more entertainment options.

The newly added OTT service is a partnership between Excitel and Amazon Prime. Subscribers of Excitel will now have access to Prime Video along with their high-speed broadband plans. This move aims to enhance the viewing experience for customers, offering them a wide range of entertainment choices.

Details of the Excitel Cable Cutter Plan

The Cable Cutter Plan by Excitel offers impressive features including speeds of up to 300 Mbps, access to over 300 live TV channels, and 22+ OTT platforms such as Disney+ Hotstar, SonyLIV, ZEE5, and now Prime Video. Priced at Rs 719 per month for a 12-month subscription, this plan is designed to cater to the diverse entertainment needs of customers. Additionally, the plan is available for 3 and 6-month durations at Rs 1119 per month and Rs 769 per month, respectively.

Vivek Raina, the Founder and CEO of Excitel Broadband, emphasized the changing landscape of India’s media market. He highlighted the increasing preference for OTT video content alongside traditional Cable TV services. Raina expressed Excitel’s commitment to providing innovative solutions that leverage the internet to meet the evolving entertainment demands of the audience. The collaboration with Amazon Prime, particularly the inclusion of Prime Lite with Excitel plans, signifies a significant leap towards creating a holistic home entertainment experience that seamlessly integrates OTT, television, and internet capabilities.

In other news, the government has allocated 160 mobile phone series for transactional and service voice calls for entities regulated by RBI, SEBI, IRDAI, and PFRDA. This initiative aims to enhance security measures and prevent citizens from falling victim to fraudulent activities. The implementation of the 160 mobile series will facilitate easy identification of the calling entity, providing added protection to consumers.

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) recently convened a meeting with representatives from key financial institutions including RBI, SEBI, IRDAI, and other regulatory bodies, along with telecom service providers (TSPs) to discuss this initiative.
