The Eurovision Song Contest 2024 Semi-Final Draw results are in, and the excitement is building as the event approaches. The Semi-Final Draw took place in Malmö, Sweden, where the Host City insignia was ceremoniously passed from previous hosts Liverpool to the Swedish organizers.
The draw revealed the line-up for the two semi-finals, with a total of 37 countries set to compete for a spot in the Grand Final. The first semi-final, scheduled for Tuesday 7 May at 21:00 CEST, will feature countries such as Ukraine, Cyprus, Poland, and Ireland, among others. The second semi-final, set for Thursday 9 May at 21:00 CEST, will include participants from Austria, Malta, Switzerland, and the Netherlands, to name a few.
Notably, the ‘Big 5’ countries, including Germany, Sweden, and the United Kingdom, will be voting during the first semi-final, while France, Italy, and Spain will cast their votes during the second semi-final.
The Grand Final, the pinnacle of the Eurovision Song Contest, is scheduled for Saturday 11 May at 21:00 CEST, promising a spectacular culmination to the musical extravaganza.
The Semi-Final Draw was hosted by Farah Abadi and Pernilla Månsson Colt, overseen by the Eurovision Song Contest’s Executive Supervisor Martin Österdahl. Speaking about the upcoming event, Österdahl expressed his excitement, stating, ‘We’re thrilled to kick off another exciting year for the Eurovision Song Contest here in Malmö.’
