Emma Hayes Announces 2024 U.S. Olympic Women’s Soccer Team Roster

Head coach Emma Hayes has announced the 2024 U.S. Olympic Women’s Soccer Team roster, which includes a mix of experienced players and newcomers. The team comprises 18 players and four alternates, with a blend of talent from previous Olympics and World Cup competitions.

Eight players from the 2020 Olympics squad have been selected to represent the USA at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. Additionally, 10 players from the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup Team have made it to the final roster for the upcoming Olympics.

2024 U.S. Olympic Women’s Soccer Team Roster by Position:

  • Goalkeepers: Casey Murphy, Alyssa Naeher
  • Defenders: Tierna Davidson, Emily Fox, Naomi Girma, Casey Krueger, Jenna Nighswonger, Emily Sonnett
  • Midfielders: Korbin Albert, Sam Coffey, Lindsey Horan, Rose Lavelle, Catarina Macario
  • Forwards: Crystal Dunn, Trinity Rodman, Jaedyn Shaw, Sophia Smith, Mallory Swanson

The team will be led by seasoned players like Crystal Dunn and Alyssa Naeher, along with rising stars such as Trinity Rodman and Catarina Macario. Alternates include Jane Campbell, Hal Hershfelt, Croix Bethune, and Lynn Williams.

Coach Hayes expressed the difficulty of the selection process, acknowledging the competitiveness among the players and the tough decisions that had to be made. She emphasized the privilege of being part of the Olympic roster and the hard work put in by the athletes over the past months.

The team will convene on July 8 in New Jersey to prepare for their matches against Mexico on July 13 at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, N.J., and Costa Rica on July 16 at Audi Field in Washington, D.C. These matches will serve as crucial opportunities for the team to showcase their progress and readiness for the upcoming Olympics.
