Elon Musk, the billionaire tech entrepreneur and CEO of Tesla, has been revealed to have learned a secret gambling technique from his father, Errol Musk, at the age of 16. Errol Musk, a retired electromechanical engineer, disclosed that he used to take Elon and his younger brother, Kimbal, to a casino in their native South Africa, where he taught them the ropes of gambling.
According to Errol, they would frequent a casino in Pretoria, South Africa, called Marula Sun, where the boys, despite being underage, would use disguises to gain entry. Elon and Kimbal would dress to appear older than they were, with Kimbal even going as far as claiming to be 23 when he was just 14. Once inside, they would engage in gambling, with Kimbal adopting a daring and flamboyant betting style, even at a young age.
Errol revealed that they initially used a basic betting method, gradually escalating their bets as they accumulated wins. This early exposure to gambling seemingly paid off for Elon years later during his brother’s bachelor party in Las Vegas, where he reportedly employed the techniques he had learned to win $42,000 on roulette.
This revelation sheds light on a lesser-known aspect of Elon Musk’s upbringing and early experiences with risk-taking and strategy, offering a glimpse into the formative years of the renowned tech mogul.
