DJI has announced the upcoming release of a new product set to be unveiled this Wednesday at 8:00 A.M. ET. While details have been kept under wraps, some information has surfaced about what to expect from the latest offering from the renowned company.
Speculation suggests that the new release could be the second generation DJI Mic 2, indicated by the event’s tagline, ‘Pocket-Sized Pro Audio.’ Currently, DJI offers two wireless mic options: the original DJI Mic available in a pack of two with a charging case and receiver, and the second generation Mic 2, which is currently only available with the new Pocket 3.
According to leaks by Igor Bogdanov, the new standalone second generation mic set is expected to include a charging case, wireless receiver, and two Mic 2 transmitters. The bundle will also come with accessories such as wind muffs, magnetic clips, and a carrying case, providing everything needed to connect the receiver to cameras, phones, or computers.
Notable changes in the Mic 2 include a sleek new design aimed at improving aesthetics. The charging case, constructed with quality metal, contributes to a minimalistic look, while the new latch design offers easy opening and closing.
One of the significant updates introduced with the Mic 2 when it was released with the Pocket 3 was 32-bit float audio recording. This enhancement allows for more flexibility in audio editing and reduces clipping, but it is only compatible when recording directly to the transmitter.
Another exciting development is the addition of a new color option for the Mic 2. In addition to the traditional Shadow Black, the leaks suggest that DJI Mic 2 will now be available in Pearl White. This offers users the choice of color to match their preferences or professional requirements.
While the introduction of a new color may seem like a fashion choice, it holds practical significance for professionals utilizing these mics in various settings.
