A tragic incident occurred at Disneyland Resort when an employee suffered a head injury after falling from a moving golf cart, leading to her untimely death, as reported by the Anaheim Police Department. The employee, identified as Bonnye Mavis Lear, a 60-year-old resident of Fullerton and a long-time employee of 24 years at the resort, was involved in the incident at Club 33, a private dining club at Disneyland.

According to the official statement released by the Anaheim Police Department, emergency responders were called to the scene just before 11:30 a.m. following a collision backstage. The employee had sustained a severe head injury from the fall and was immediately transported to a local hospital in critical condition. Tragically, she passed away two days later as a result of her injuries.

In response to the heartbreaking loss, Disneyland Resort president Ken Potrock expressed condolences and highlighted the focus on providing support to the family and fellow cast members during this difficult time. The Disney spokesperson mentioned that Bonnye Lear had been an integral part of the team, contributing to membership services at Club 33.

The Anaheim police traffic detectives have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision to determine the events leading to the tragic incident. The community mourns the loss of a dedicated employee and extends sympathies to all those affected by the unfortunate event.

Incidents like these serve as a reminder of the importance of workplace safety and the need for constant vigilance to prevent such accidents from occurring in the future. The Disneyland community is coming together to support one another during this period of grief and loss.
