Develon, formerly known as Doosan Construction Equipment, has proudly announced that two of its groundbreaking technology solutions have been honored with prestigious awards at the CES 2024 Innovation Awards. The awards were presented as part of the CES 2024 electronics trade show, held from January 9-12 in Las Vegas.

One of the accolades was bestowed upon Develon’s Smart Collision Mitigation (SCM) system, recognized in the Vehicle Tech & Advanced Mobility category. This innovative system employs an active safety approach to detect objects surrounding an excavator through Sensor Fusion of camera and radar technologies. The excavator is equipped with four or more cameras, providing a comprehensive 360-degree All Around View. Utilizing AI technology, the system selectively identifies individuals or objects. Additionally, three wide-angle radar sensors with a 180-degree horizontal field of view are utilized to minimize blind spots and measure the distance of detected objects. In the event of detecting a pedestrian or object within the warning/danger zone, visual and audible warnings are activated. Furthermore, the system automatically reduces the excavator’s swing and driving speed, ultimately coming to a halt to prevent potential accidents.

Develon’s X-Agent system, another remarkable innovation, received recognition in the Mobile Devices, Accessories & Apps category. X-Agent is specifically designed to enhance the productivity and skill of operators of excavators, wheel loaders, and articulated dump trucks. The system incorporates AI functionality to analyze driver/equipment status and work plans, subsequently creating an optimized route to enhance the productivity of unskilled workers by approximately 30%. Moreover, to facilitate seamless remote control using vision information, it extracts meta information based on the networks and transmits minimal data, even in a 2G or 3G network environment.

These accolades at the CES 2024 Innovation Awards underscore Develon’s commitment to advancing technological solutions that prioritize safety, productivity, and efficiency in the construction equipment industry.
