Destiny 2 Exploit Disabled by Bungie

The Destiny 2 community was recently abuzz with news of an exploit in The Final Shape that allowed players to farm an ‘infinite’ amount of enhancement cores using the legendary Khvostov. The developers at Bungie swiftly moved to disable this exploit to maintain game balance and fairness.

The Final Shape expansion brought a wave of excitement to Destiny 2 players, introducing new content such as a fresh campaign, a compelling storyline, the Prismatic subclass, and a new enemy race. Despite some initial issues with login queues and error codes, Guardians dove into the game to explore the new features and locations, including the return of the legendary Khvostov weapon.

However, players soon discovered a loophole that allowed them to exploit the Khvostov to gain an unlimited number of enhancement cores. This unintended advantage prompted Bungie to take immediate action by disabling the exploit to prevent further abuse.

Bungie Help took to Twitter to announce the temporary disabling of the ability to retrieve the Legendary version of Khvostov from Collections. This move aimed to address the exploit that enabled players to convert one Enhancement Core into seven by dismantling the weapon, essentially granting them free Enhancement Cores.

Enhancement Cores hold significant value in Destiny 2 as essential resources for player progression. Bungie’s decision to disable this exploit temporarily reflects their commitment to maintaining a fair gameplay environment and rewarding players for their efforts in completing in-game activities.

Unfortunately, this action also impacted players hoping to acquire the exotic version of the Khvostov. Those who had already dismantled all copies of the legendary weapon were informed that they would be unable to obtain the exotic variant until a fix was implemented.

While some players expressed frustration over the exploit’s removal, citing ongoing server issues, Bungie’s swift response underscores their dedication to addressing gameplay imbalances promptly and ensuring a positive experience for all Destiny 2 players.
