Demi Moore speaks out about ex-husband Bruce Willis’ battle with dementia

Demi Moore, the renowned actress, has recently spoken out about her ex-husband Bruce Willis’ battle with dementia. The couple, who divorced in 2000, have remained close, and Moore provided an update on Willis’ current condition during an interview on ‘Good Morning America.’

Moore expressed her perspective on Willis’ health, stating, ‘I think, given the givens, he’s doing very well.’ She emphasized the importance of meeting individuals where they are at, rather than holding onto what isn’t, and finding beauty, sweetness, and joy in the present moment.

Despite their divorce, Moore and Willis have maintained a strong bond, particularly in supporting their three daughters: Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah. The family frequently shares moments together on social media, showcasing their close relationship.

Last year, the Willis family revealed that Bruce had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD) following an earlier aphasia diagnosis. Moore has been a pillar of support for Willis throughout his health struggles, offering encouragement to other families dealing with dementia.

During an interview on Andy Cohen’s Sirius XM show, Moore advised families to ‘let go’ and embrace the present moment, urging them to appreciate the love and joy that exists, rather than focusing on who their loved ones used to be or who they wish they were.

It is evident that Moore’s support for Willis extends beyond their personal relationship, as she maintains a positive connection with Willis’ current wife, Emma Heming. The family’s public announcement of Willis’ health challenges in 2022 led to his retirement from acting, and subsequent developments saw his condition progress to frontotemporal dementia in March 2023.

As Willis continues to navigate his battle with dementia, his family remains a steadfast source of support, standing by him through this difficult time.
