The Delta Emulator is undergoing a logo change following a dispute with Adobe over similarities in their logos. The current logo, featuring a stylized letter ‘D,’ is being replaced to avoid potential legal action from Adobe, who raised concerns about its resemblance to Adobe’s stylized letter ‘A.’
Delta Emulator creator, Riley Testut, shared that Adobe’s lawyers contacted them on May 7th with a request to change the icon to prevent consumer confusion or potential infringement of Adobe’s rights. Despite explaining that their logo was a stylized Greek letter delta, not an ‘A,’ Delta decided to update the logo to avert any issues.
The temporary logo currently displayed in app stores will be replaced with a new design in the upcoming Delta 1.6 release. This move comes after Adobe pointed out the similarity between Delta’s logo and their own, which features stylized triangles with a distinct gap, a design element present in Adobe’s logos since 1982.
While the new logo is still in development, the team is working on finalizing the design for implementation. This incident highlights the importance of logo distinctiveness and the potential legal implications of logo similarities in the digital space.
