Crunchy Nut Corn Flakes Voted Britain’s Favorite Cereal

Crunchy Nut corn flakes have been voted Britain’s favorite breakfast cereal, with 35% of consumers still championing the classic brand after nearly half a century. Despite their high sugar content, Crunchy Nut corn flakes have secured the top spot in a recent poll of 2,000 shoppers, surpassing other popular choices like Corn Flakes, Coco Pops, Weetabix, and Frosties.

Created in 1980 at the Kellogg’s factory in Trafford Park, Manchester, Crunchy Nut corn flakes quickly gained popularity, with sales exceeding expectations in the first three months. With approximately 66 million boxes produced in the country each year, it’s clear that this cereal has stood the test of time.

The survey, conducted by research agency Perspectus Global, revealed an interesting shift in consumer habits regarding cereal consumption. More than a third of respondents stated that cereal is now a preferred late-night snack, marking a departure from traditional breakfast-only consumption.

Furthermore, the study highlighted changing preferences in milk choices, with 53% of participants opting for semi-skimmed milk. Interestingly, 15% of Gen Z and millennials aged 18-44 are now choosing oat or plant-based milk alternatives.

The origins of corn flakes trace back to the late 1800s when William Kellogg invented the original Corn Flakes in the US. The Kellogg brothers’ creation was initially developed at the Battle Creek Sanitarium in Michigan, a renowned health and wellness resort. Over time, the cereal gained popularity, leading to the establishment of the Kellogg’s business.

While the debate over the nutritional value of Crunchy Nut corn flakes continues, their enduring popularity among British consumers is undeniable. Whether enjoyed for breakfast or as a late-night treat, this classic cereal remains a favorite choice for many.
