Crash Team Rumble Receives Final Content Update as Toys for Bob Prepares for Independence

Crash Team Rumble, the popular game from developer Toys for Bob, is set to receive its final content update as the studio prepares to operate independently from Activision. The game’s last update is scheduled for March 4, 2024, marking the end of ongoing support for the title. While the servers will remain accessible, the battle pass will become free, and microtransactions will be disabled, signaling the conclusion of Season 3 with the addition of Spyro the Dragon as a playable character.

Toys for Bob, known for its work on the Crash Bandicoot franchise, recently announced its separation from Activision and its new independence under Microsoft. This move is aimed at allowing the studio to refocus on its original vision. A message within the game has confirmed the impending conclusion of support for Crash Team Rumble, as the developer transitions to its new phase.

The update brings an end to the game’s regular content releases, with the decision to make the battle pass free and disable microtransactions indicating that Crash Team Rumble will not continue with a Season 4. Despite this, the servers will remain operational, ensuring that existing players can continue to enjoy the game.
