Controversy Surrounds New Final Fantasy XIV Meister Quality Figurine

Final Fantasy XIV fans are buzzing with excitement over the latest Meister Quality figurine unveiled by Square Enix, depicting the entities of light and dark, Hydaelyn and Zodiark. However, the celebratory mood has been dampened by the steep price tag attached to the figurine, leaving many fans questioning its value.

Historically, Square Enix’s official merchandise has included bonus in-game rewards, such as minions and emotes, which have been a major draw for fans. The newly revealed Hydaelyn and Zodiark figurine continues this trend by offering a premier emote, but with some controversial restrictions.

Upon purchasing the figurine, fans receive a code to redeem a copy of Ballroom Etiquette – Apocalyptic Charades in-game, granting access to the Sundering emote. However, the catch is that the emote is restricted to just one character per account, unlike previous rewards that were accessible account-wide. This departure from the norm has sparked disappointment and frustration within the FFXIV community.

Aside from the limitations on the emote, fans have also expressed concerns about the figurine’s price point, which has seen a 50 percent increase compared to previous Meister Arts figures. At a hefty $359.99, fans expected a higher quality and more generous rewards, especially considering the significance of the 10th anniversary of A Realm Reborn.

With the community voicing their dissatisfaction on social media, it is clear that Square Enix’s pricing strategy for the new Meister Arts figure has sparked a heated debate among fans. As the discussion continues, it remains to be seen if Square Enix will address the concerns and reconsider the pricing and rewards associated with the highly anticipated figurine.
