Cinco de Mayo Festival Returns to Ferndale for Second Year

The annual Cinco de Mayo festival is back in Ferndale for its second year, promising a vibrant celebration of Mexican culture, food, and entertainment. Hosted by Mezcal Mexican Bar & Kitchen, the event is set to take place on May 4-5 along East Nine Mile Road, between Woodward Avenue and Bermuda.

Last year, the festival drew an impressive crowd of nearly 10,000 attendees, according to Michael Lary, the special events director of Ferndale. Such was the turnout that the fire department had to restrict entry at one point due to the overwhelming number of participants.

This year, the festival footprint will be expanded to include the Ferndale Public Library parking lot, offering even more space for attendees to enjoy the festivities.
