China Unveils NeuCyber Array BMI System at Zhongguancun Forum

China has unveiled its self-developed brain-machine interface system at the Zhongguancun Forum, showcasing cutting-edge technology in human-machine interaction and hybrid intelligence. The NeuCyber Array BMI System, revealed at the 2024 ZGC Forum in Beijing, allows for control of external devices through brain signals.

During a video demonstration at the forum, a monkey controlled a robotic arm with implanted electrodes in its brain, showcasing the system’s capabilities. This technology, developed by the Chinese Institute for Brain Research and NeuCyber NeuroTech, captures neural signals to translate thoughts into actions.

The NeuCyber Array BMI System comprises advanced components including a high-throughput flexible microelectrode array, a neural signal acquisition system, and a decoding algorithm for brain control. These elements enhance signal capture and accuracy in translating brain intentions.

Li Yuan, the business development director of NeuCyber NeuroTech, highlighted the system’s electrode filaments made of biocompatible materials for optimal brain tissue compatibility. The system’s international standard in effective channels and long-term stability sets it apart in the field.

This breakthrough in brain-machine interface technology opens new possibilities for seamless communication between humans and machines, revolutionizing the future of human-computer interaction.
