Chicago is gearing up for the Super Bowl with a unique offering at its weed dispensaries – THC-infused buffalo wing sauce. The collaboration between cannabis company Cresco Labs and sports bar The Fifty/50 has resulted in the creation of this special sauce, available for purchase at Sunnyside dispensaries starting Friday.
The mild buffalo wing sauce is made by The Fifty/50 and then infused with distillate cannabis oil from Cresco’s Good News brand. Each $30 bottle contains 10 servings and 100 mg of THC, providing a novel addition to Super Bowl watch parties.
This move reflects the growing trend of incorporating cannabis into various products. The Super Bowl has seen a 13% increase in legal marijuana sales from 2022 to 2023, with a 7% surge on the day of the event, according to cannabis data provider BDS Analytics.
In addition to the THC-infused sauce, The Fifty/50 is known for selling over 1,000 pounds of chicken wings for both dine-in and takeout during the big game. The sauce is available at Sunnyside dispensaries in River North, Wrigleyville, Buffalo Grove, and Schaumburg.
