Bron Breakker, the rising star of WWE, has recently opened up about his journey to professional wrestling after a brief stint in the NFL. Having recently concluded his first title reign as the WWE Intercontinental Champion, Breakker has made a name for himself in the wrestling world, showcasing his talent and dedication.

Before stepping into the squared circle, Bron Breakker, whose real name is Bronson Rechsteiner, pursued a career in football. He played college football at Kennesaw State University and later signed with the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free-agent fullback in April 2020. However, his football career was short-lived as he was released just four months later.

In a candid conversation on the podcast “Casual Conversations with The Classic,” Breakker reflected on his childhood and the influence of his family in his decision to pursue wrestling. It fits like a glove; it’s like something I was born to do since the beginning of time.” His enthusiasm for wrestling has been evident in his performances, which have garnered him a significant following among fans.

Despite his love for wrestling, the transition from football to wrestling was not without its challenges. Breakker admitted that his family had mixed feelings about his decision to leave football behind. He noted, “I think everybody was a little bit on the fence with me because I still had some gas left in the tank for football because I was still had opportunities to go back to the NFL and play.” This uncertainty lingered as he navigated his new path.

Breakker’s release from the Ravens was a turning point for him. He described the experience as heartbreaking, stating, “I had given everything to it from an effort and dedication; I had put so much effort into making it there. The NFL’s a business and I understand that.” Despite the disappointment, he recognized that it was time to embrace a new chapter in his life.

Ultimately, Breakker made the decision to focus on wrestling, a choice that has proven fruitful. He explained that while he had opportunities to continue playing football, his heart was set on WWE. “It was time,” he concluded, indicating that he was ready to fully commit to his wrestling career.
