Boxer Ryan Garcia Expelled from Top Boxing Organization for Racist Comments and Substance Abuse Concerns

Boxer Ryan Garcia faced expulsion from a top boxing organization after making racist and anti-Muslim comments, as well as derogatory remarks about Black people and George Floyd. The World Boxing Council President, Mauricio Sulaiman, announced Garcia’s expulsion, citing the rejection of any form of discrimination and expressing concern for Garcia’s well-being due to his refusal of help with mental health and substance abuse.

Garcia had been under scrutiny since his match with Devin Haney, where he tested positive for a banned substance, Ostarine. Despite the suspension by the New York State Athletic Commission and claims of retirement, Garcia denied any wrongdoing and asserted he was heading to the UFC.

In response to the accusations, Garcia and his team stated that he was a victim of substance contamination, with levels that provided no advantage in the ring. The controversy surrounding Garcia’s comments and actions has stirred significant attention within the boxing community and beyond.
