Bose Unveils Ultra Open Earbuds in Collaboration with Kith

Bose has just unveiled its latest innovation, the Ultra Open Earbuds, which come with a distinctive design that allows them to clip onto the outer ear, providing wearers with complete environmental awareness while listening to audio. Priced at $300, these unique earbuds are set to make their debut in a rather unconventional manner – they will be exclusively available through a collaboration with fashion and lifestyle brand Kith.

The partnership with Kith means that the initial release of the ‘Kith for Bose Ultra Open Earbuds’ will be limited in quantity and will be sold exclusively through Kith’s online and physical stores starting from January 22nd. This limited availability has sparked curiosity about whether the hype surrounding the collaboration will lead to high demand for the Bose earbuds.

Describing the design, Bose highlights the innovative cuff-shaped structure of the Ultra Open Earbuds, emphasizing their polished, soft edges and stylish finish. Unlike traditional earbuds, these do not sit inside the ear but rather attach to the side, presenting more as a fashion accessory than a typical audio wearable. Additionally, they are designed to be compatible with glasses, hats, and jewelry, offering comfort for extended wear without compromising on audio quality or environmental awareness. The sleek matte black colorway, co-designed by Bose and Kith, features a modified Kith logo on each earbud in Bose’s iconic block lettering.

While Bose has not disclosed many details about the Ultra Open Earbuds, Kith’s website has provided some insights. Similar to Bose’s previous product, the Bose Frames, these earbuds incorporate Bose’s OpenAudio technology to deliver music directly to the ears without causing disturbance to others. The battery life is estimated at 7.5 hours of continuous listening, and the earbuds are expected to offer a unique and immersive audio experience.
