BMW M5 Introduces Electrified Drive System in Seventh Generation Model

The BMW M5, a legendary high-performance sedan from BMW M GmbH, is stepping into a new era with the launch of its seventh model generation. This new iteration marks a significant milestone for the iconic vehicle, as it introduces an electrified drive system for the first time. The model-specific version of the M HYBRID system equips the BMW M5 with a maximum output of 535 kW/727 hp and peak system torque of 1,000 Nm (737 lb-ft), delivering exceptional performance.

Combining a high-revving V8 engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology and an electric motor, along with an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission and M xDrive all-wheel drive, the new BMW M5 boasts impressive acceleration capabilities. It can go from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.5 seconds, showcasing its prowess on the road.

Aside from its powerful performance, the new BMW M5 also features a refreshed design that sets it apart from the BMW 5 Series Sedan. With striking wheel arch and side skirt extensions, a sculptural front apron, and model-specific surfacing around the C-pillar, the car exudes athleticism and a sporty appeal. The exterior design, complemented by a luxurious interior enhanced with M-specific features, highlights the multi-layered character of the BMW M5.

Moreover, the M HYBRID system, combined with advanced power transmission and chassis technology tailored to its performance attributes, enhances the transverse and longitudinal dynamics of the BMW M5. This ensures a dynamic and engaging driving experience, whether cruising in electric mode or pushing the limits on the track.
