Ben & Jerry’s Unveils New Marshmallow Sky Ice Cream Flavor

Ben & Jerry’s has just unveiled its latest creation, the Marshmallow Sky ice cream, now available in pint-sized packages at select supermarkets. This limited batch flavor features a vibrant electric blue hue, inspired by the iconic cloud scene synonymous with Ben & Jerry’s. The eye-catching color is achieved using spirulina extract, a blue-green algae that has been making waves in the culinary world.

Marshmallow Sky boasts a marshmallow-flavored ice cream base, complemented by marshmallow swirls, chocolate chunks, and chocolate chip cookie dough, delivering a delectable combination of flavors in every scoop. Natalia Butler, Ben & Jerry’s Flavor Guru, describes the new flavor as a ‘double double’ of chunky goodness, featuring the star marshmallow swirls in two variations and cookie dough in both chocolate chip and chocolate chocolate chip forms.

Originally created for Ben & Jerry’s scoop shops, the Marshmallow Sky flavor has now made its way to the freezer section of select supermarkets, priced between $4.99 and $6.99 per pint. The decision to bring this flavor to retail was driven by its popularity at scoop shops, where it was initially introduced. According to Butler, the vibrant blue color of the ice cream is a result of using spirulina, a natural ingredient that perfectly captures the iconic Ben & Jerry’s sky.

While the Marshmallow Sky may not qualify as health food, given its indulgent ingredients, spirulina is known for its immunity-boosting properties and nutritional content, adding a unique twist to this whimsical treat. The electric blue ice cream trend extends beyond Ben & Jerry’s, with St. Louis’ Clementine’s Naughty and Nice Ice Cream offering a similarly hued Blue Moon flavor, featuring a fruity combination with spirulina algae for the striking blue color.

Ice cream enthusiasts can now indulge in this vibrant and flavorful creation, available for a limited time only. Whether enjoyed on its own or as part of a creative dessert, the Ben & Jerry’s Marshmallow Sky promises a delightful and visually stunning experience for ice cream lovers.
