Beloved Philadelphia Small Business Owner Charisse McGill Passes Away at 42

A beloved figure in the Philadelphia small business community, Charisse McGill, the creator of the popular ‘French Toast Bites,’ has tragically passed away at the age of 42. Her family announced her untimely death on Tuesday, leaving many in mourning.

The cause of her death remains unclear at this point, as the community grapples with the loss of a pioneering entrepreneur. McGill’s journey to success began in 2018 when she introduced her now-iconic ‘French Toast Bites’ to the city, garnering widespread acclaim and recognition.

Notably, she recently made history by becoming the first Black woman to assume the role of executive director for the Farmers Market Coalition, marking a significant milestone in her career.

Following her passing, McGill’s daughter is set to take over the reins of her mother’s business, ensuring that Charisse’s legacy and entrepreneurial spirit live on.

The impact of McGill’s contributions to the local business landscape and her pioneering role as a Black entrepreneur has left an indelible mark on the community, and her memory will continue to inspire future generations.
