Be Quiet! Unveils New Light Base 600 Horizontal Desktop Gaming PC Case

Be Quiet! has just unveiled the new Light Base 600, a horizontal desktop gaming PC case that is bringing back the nostalgia of classic 1990s designs. This innovative case features a sleek glass top and front, giving it a modern and stylish look.

The Light Base 600 marks a revival of the horizontal form factor in PC cases, a design that has been largely absent in the gaming world since the era of HTPCs. Unlike traditional tower cases, this new offering from be quiet! boasts a unique layout that sets it apart from the crowd.

One of the standout features of the Light Base 600 is its flipped motherboard tray, which allows it to sit horizontally on your desk with all the expansion slots lined up vertically. This design also incorporates a dual-chamber layout, providing ample space to conceal the PSU and cables beneath the motherboard tray.

In a demo system showcasing the capabilities of the Light Base 600, be quiet! demonstrated its compatibility with a full-size Dark Power 13 PSU and a Dark Rock Elite CPU cooler on an Intel Core i5 14600K CPU. The case is equipped with seven 120mm Light Wings LX RGB fans for efficient cooling, along with three RGB strips on the front panel for added visual appeal.

While the height of the case may limit the option to mount a monitor on top, the potential for future iterations of this form factor is promising. By exploring alternatives such as a non-dual-chamber design, AIO cooling solutions, and PCIe risers for graphics cards, users could optimize space and create a more versatile setup.

For enthusiasts who appreciate the retro charm of horizontal desktop PC cases, the resurgence of this form factor is a welcome sight. With a few nostalgic additions like front-facing drive bays and classic design elements, the Light Base 600 offers a blend of vintage aesthetics and modern functionality.
