Avelo Airlines has announced an exciting expansion of its services from Lakeland Linder International Airport, introducing seven new routes, including an international destination, starting this fall. This marks the airline’s most significant growth phase to date, reflecting its commitment to enhancing travel options for passengers in the region.

The routes are designed to cater to both leisure and business travelers, offering affordable ticket prices that start as low as $52.

  • Hartford, Connecticut – Bradley International Airport (BDL) will begin service on November 8, with tickets starting at $72.

Tickets for these new routes are already available for purchase on Avelo’s official website, allowing travelers to plan their trips ahead of time.

Local officials have expressed enthusiasm about the new routes. Lakeland City Commissioner Mike Musick, who was the first person to book a ticket to New Haven, highlighted his excitement about the San Juan route, stating, “I’m excited and I think we’ve proven as a city that our population base is excited. I told my wife let’s get our bags packed and let’s go.” His sentiments reflect the growing demand for travel options in the Lakeland area.

Commissioner Guy LaLonde, who has roots in New Hampshire, also shared his excitement about the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport being included in the new destinations. He noted the airport’s proximity to Boston and its accessibility to central New England, which offers a variety of attractions, including renowned seafood and the scenic White Mountains.

Kris Hallstrand, the Airport Director, credited the community’s positive response and collaborative efforts among city, county, and economic development partners for the rapid addition of these seven destinations. Hallstrand remarked on the importance of starting the airport’s commercial air service slowly to build a solid foundation before expanding. He stated, “The crawl was good for us and it was great for the airline, we really needed that. Now, Trevor said we’re in the walk. I disagree, I think we’re at a brisk jog. I truly look forward to running alongside you guys in the future as we grow this operation and serve our community better.”

As Lakeland Linder International Airport continues to grow, it aims to enhance its services and provide more travel options for its community. The addition of these new routes is a significant step towards achieving that goal, and it reflects the increasing demand for air travel in the region.

With the launch of these new routes, Avelo Airlines is set to make a substantial impact on the local travel landscape, offering residents and visitors alike greater connectivity to key destinations across the United States and beyond. The airline’s commitment to affordable travel options is expected to attract more passengers, further boosting the local economy and promoting tourism in the area.
