Australians Eagerly Planning International Trips for 2024, Research Shows

In exciting news for travel enthusiasts, new research from TTC Tour Brands reveals that Australians are eagerly planning their international leisure trips for the year 2024. With a substantial 77% of Australians over 18 still intending to travel this year, it’s clear that wanderlust is alive and well in the land down under.

Among the top destinations capturing the hearts of Australian travelers, Europe reigns supreme with 68% of travelers setting their sights on its enchanting cities and landscapes. Following closely behind is Asia at 40%, with New Zealand and the USA also garnering significant interest at 25% and 19% respectively.

Not surprisingly, many Australians are on the lookout for discounts and promotions to make their travel dreams a reality. With over half of the study participants driven by sales, it’s evident that securing good value for money is a top priority for 60% of travelers.

Moreover, the research highlights a growing interest in guided tours, with 14% of holidaymakers considering this style of travel. This trend is on par with the popularity of cruises and all-inclusive resorts, indicating a shift towards curated travel experiences.

Key takeaways from the research reveal that a significant 71% of Aussies are planning to travel between August and October, with September emerging as the preferred month for 28% of travelers. Financial concerns remain a key consideration for 35% of travelers, emphasizing the importance of securing good deals and taking advantage of discounts.

Toni Ambler, Managing Director of TTC Tour Brands, notes that Australians are increasingly opting for last-minute travel plans, with September being a popular choice. Ambler emphasizes the appeal of guided tours, not only for the unique experiences they offer but also for the significant savings they provide. According to Ambler, guests can save between 20-30% on a European holiday with TTC Tour Brands compared to fully independent travel.

With travelers gearing up to make their bookings within the next three months, agents are advised to be prepared to assist in turning travel dreams into reality. As the travel industry continues to evolve, the allure of international adventures remains strong, with Australians eagerly anticipating their upcoming trips abroad.
