Arizona Coyotes Prepare to Host Vancouver Canucks

The Arizona Coyotes are gearing up to host the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday as they have two games remaining in their current homestand at Mullett Arena. The upcoming match will mark the second encounter between the two teams within a week, with the season series set to conclude on April 10 in Vancouver.

Despite a recent 8-5 loss to the New York Rangers, the Coyotes have shown resilience, securing victories in two of their last three games and three out of their last five. Forward Nick Bjugstad is on the verge of matching his career-best points tally, needing just five more points to equal his previous record set in the 2017-18 season. The 31-year-old has been in impressive form, registering at least one point in each of his last six games and accumulating 13 points over his last 12 outings.

Notably, Nick Schmaltz has achieved a career milestone, delivering multiple points in three consecutive games. Additionally, he is on the brink of setting a new career-high in points for a season with just four points needed, and with eight games remaining. Meanwhile, Matias Maccelli has been on a scoring spree, securing a three-game goal streak, marking the longest of his career.

Looking ahead, Connor Ingram is set to start in goal for the Coyotes on Wednesday, following his recent commendable performance, where he clinched a victory by making 33 saves out of 37 shots in an 8-4 win over the Nashville Predators. Against the upcoming opponents, Vancouver, Ingram has a career record of 0-1-0, with a 2.04 goals-against average and a .923 save percentage.

As the anticipation builds for the upcoming clash, rookie sensation Logan Cooley has been a standout player for the Coyotes, showcasing an impressive form with seven points in his last five games.

About the Canucks

On the other side, the Vancouver Canucks, under the guidance of head coach Rick Tocchet, have been enjoying a remarkable season, having already secured a playoff berth and leading the Pacific Division with an impressive 100 points from 74 games.

Prior to their matchup against the Coyotes, the Canucks will be facing the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday, playing in the second game of a back-to-back series. Despite a 6-3 defeat in their recent outing, Quinn Hughes delivered a standout performance, scoring twice for the Canucks.
