Apple CEO Tim Cook’s annual compensation for 2023 has been disclosed in the recent filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Cook earned a total of $63.2 million, a decrease from the $99.4 million he received in 2022. His compensation comprises stock awards and bonuses.
In the filing by Apple, it was revealed that Cook’s 2023 compensation is notably lower compared to the previous year, where he received a staggering $99.4 million. In 2021, his annual compensation stood at $98.7 million. Cook has maintained a base salary of $3 million since 2016.
Cook’s 2023 compensation breakdown includes $46.9 million in stock awards, $10.7 million in performance-based bonuses, and $2.5 million in other benefits such as security and private jet travel. Notably, Cook himself proposed a voluntary pay cut in 2023, reducing his compensation by 40%.
With a net worth estimated at $2.1 billion, Cook’s annual compensation package cements his status among the global elite. Despite this, he is not listed in the Bloomberg Billionaires Index due to its $6 billion threshold.
On the other hand, there are speculations that Sundar Pichai, CEO of Alphabet and Google, might soon reach a billion-dollar fortune, marking a significant achievement for a non-founder tech executive. Google’s recent financial results for the quarter ending on March 31 showcased a record high, driven by AI-powered growth. Pichai’s wealth has soared to nearly $1 billion, primarily fueled by substantial stock awards, as reported by the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
