Apple has announced that its annual shareholder meeting will take place on February 28, 2024. In a departure from previous in-person events at Apple Park, the meeting will be held virtually due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
At these meetings, Apple executives traditionally provide updates on the company’s performance and outline future plans. This year, shareholders will also vote on the nomination of Dr. Wanda Austin to Apple’s board of directors, following the retirement of Al Gore and James Bell. Dr. Austin, the former CEO of The Aerospace Corporation, brings extensive technology expertise to the board.
Only shareholders who acquired Apple shares by January 2, 2024, will be eligible to attend the virtual meeting. Last year, a proposal to require Apple to annually report its reliance on China was rejected, while CEO Tim Cook reiterated the company’s commitment to investing in India during the 2023 meeting.
The 2024 meeting is scheduled for 9 A.M. P.T. on February 28, 2024.
