Anticipation Builds for Apple’s Next Generation of iPads

Apple fans are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the next generation of iPads, following the release of the 10th generation iPad in October 2022. With no new iPad launches in 2023, there is a growing anticipation for the release of the latest models. So, when can we expect the new iPads to hit the market? Let’s take a look at the latest rumors and speculations surrounding the highly anticipated devices.

iPad Pro

In March 2024, rumors from China initially suggested that Apple would make an announcement related to the iPad on Tuesday, March 26, hinting at a potential press release ahead of pre-orders and a launch date. However, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has refuted these claims, stating that the rumored announcement date is not accurate. While Gurman did not provide any specific information about the announcement or launch date for the new iPad Pro models, he indicated a general timeframe of ‘around the end of March or in April.’

The upcoming iPad Pro models are expected to feature a thinner design and are rumored to be equipped with a landscape-oriented front camera similar to the iPad 10. Other speculated features for the iPad Pro include Apple’s custom M3 chip, MagSafe wireless charging, a redesigned Magic Keyboard with a larger trackpad and an aluminum top casing, as well as a landscape-oriented front camera.

iPad Air

In addition to the OLED iPad Pro models, Apple is also anticipated to introduce a larger 12.9-inch iPad Air alongside an updated 10.9-inch model in March or early April, according to Gurman. He provided further insight into the release timing, stating that the ‘variant of iPadOS 17.4’ for the new iPad models may not be ready until at least late March, potentially leading to a launch deeper into April, although an announcement could precede the launch.

Rumored features for the new iPad Air models include the M2 chip, a redesigned rear camera bump, Wi-Fi 6E support, and Bluetooth 5.3.

iPad

Reports from Taiwan on Apple’s product development resource allocation plans indicate that Apple will release a new entry-level iPad in the second half of the following year. The next iPad is expected to feature a faster A15 chip, an upgrade from the A14 chip in the current model.

iPad Mini

While details about the iPad Mini are scarce in the current rumors, it is clear that Apple enthusiasts have much to look forward to in the coming months as the tech giant gears up for the release of its latest iPad models.
