Get ready for the annual 4th of July celebration in Las Cruces, featuring the Electric Light Parade and Electric 5K and Fun Run. The festivities will kick off on Wednesday, July 3, with the running event starting at 7:30 p.m. followed by the dazzling parade at 9 p.m.
The parade route will commence at Apodaca Park on E. Madrid Avenue, moving west on Madrid, south on Solano Drive, east on Hadley Avenue, and concluding at the Meerscheidt Recreation Center on 1600 E. Hadley. The running event will follow the same route in reverse.
Be aware of parking restrictions and street closures along the route, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Apodaca Park will close, and vehicles must vacate by 1 p.m., except for the pickleball area, which will remain open until 4 p.m. Expect delays and increased pedestrian traffic in the area, so consider alternative routes.
