Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine are set to star in the upcoming movie, The Idea of You, which is an adaptation of the 2017 novel by Robinne Lee. Prime Video released the first trailer for the film on Wednesday, giving fans a glimpse of the steamy romance that is set to hit screens on May 2.
The story revolves around Solène (played by Hathaway), who ends up chaperoning her teenage daughter’s trip to the Coachella Music Festival. It is during this trip that she encounters Hayes Campbell (portrayed by Galitzine), sparking an instant and undeniable connection between them. As they embark on a whirlwind romance, they soon find themselves facing challenges due to Hayes’ superstar status, ultimately leading Solène to question whether she can handle the spotlight that comes with dating a celebrity.
The movie has garnered significant attention, with fans drawing parallels between Galitzine’s character, Hayes, and Harry Styles during his One Direction days. However, author Robinne Lee has clarified that the character was not based on Styles, emphasizing that the story is about a woman in her 40s reclaiming her sexuality and rediscovering herself.
The Idea of You is co-written by Jennifer Westfeldt and Michael Showalter, with Showalter also directing the film. In addition to Hathaway and Galitzine, the movie features a talented cast including Ella Rubin, Reid Scott, Annie Mumolo, Viktor White, Raymond Cham, Jaiden Anthony, and Dakota Adan.
