AMEDAMA: Soul-Shifting Sandbox Action Adventure Game Set to Launch in Early Access for PC

AMEDAMA, a side-scrolling, soul-shifting sandbox action adventure game, is set to launch in Early Access for PC via Steam on March 22. The game, developed by IzanagiGames and ACQUIRE, will be available for $24.99 / 2,490 yen, with a 10 percent-off launch discount. The Early Access release will be followed by additional platforms. A demo of the game is currently available.

The game is set in Aihama, Japan, during the final years of the Edo period. The story follows Yushin, who, after being cut down in front of his sister Yui, finds himself as a soul without a body. With only seven days left until his soul departs, he must possess different bodies on a quest to save his sister. The game’s striking new 2D style brings the soul-shifting adventure to life.

Players will need to shift their soul to other bodies in order to find Yui, gaining access to a variety of weapons and fighting styles depending on the current body. The game’s rain-soaked backdrop and evocative pixel style create a somber world where beauty and darkness coexist.

As players relive the same seven-day period, their choices will impact the unfolding story. The decisions and outcomes are in the hands of the players, adding a layer of reincarnation and repercussions to the gameplay.

AMEDAMA also features the sword technique of Usetsu Tensei Sword Style, allowing players to employ the technique known as ‘Misty Riposte’ to counter opponents’ attacks and deal significant damage.

The game’s development and marketing are handled by IzanagiGames, with planning by ACQUIRE. The anticipated launch of AMEDAMA in Early Access has garnered attention from gaming enthusiasts, offering a unique and immersive experience in the world of soul-shifting action adventure.
