In a significant development within the healthcare sector, Bayhealth has officially appointed Amanda Bowie as the new Vice President of Marketing, Communications, and Community Outreach. This announcement follows her tenure in an interim capacity, which began in March 2023. Bowie’s appointment reflects her extensive experience and commitment to enhancing Bayhealth’s outreach and community engagement efforts.
Amanda Bowie previously held the position of Senior Manager within the same department, where she played a crucial role in the organization’s branding refresh initiative. This project was driven by comprehensive research conducted within the community and among Bayhealth team members, culminating in a renewed promise that underscores the organization’s dedication to its patients, staff, and the broader community.
During her interim leadership, Bowie successfully expanded the Marketing and Communications department to include a focus on Community Outreach. Utilizing data from social determinants of health and insights from Bayhealth’s Community Health Needs Assessment, she is spearheading the development of new initiatives aimed at addressing the needs of the community effectively.
“Amanda is a visionary marketer experienced in strategies that engage patients and team members and build vital relationships with community partners and the people they serve,” said Darlene Stone, Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resource Officer at Bayhealth. “I’ve always been impressed by Amanda’s passion for our organization and this community. She’s leading her team in a new direction that’s propelling us forward.”
Bowie’s journey with Bayhealth spans over a decade, during which she has held various roles including marketing specialist, marketing operations manager, and senior manager before ascending to her current vice president position. Her diverse experience within the organization has equipped her with a deep understanding of both the internal dynamics and external challenges faced by healthcare providers.
Academically, Bowie holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Maryland and a Master of Science in Management with a concentration in Marketing from Wilmington University. Additionally, she has earned a certification in brand strategies from the prestigious Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
Her professional affiliations include membership in the Sigma Beta Delta International Honor Society for Business, Management, and Administration, as well as active participation in the Society for Health Care Strategy & Market Development (SHSMD) and the Mid-Atlantic Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development (MASHMD).
