Air France has recently introduced a new dining concept in its domestic business class, offering boxed meals created in partnership with Chef François Adamski. The airline’s improved catering aims to enhance the dining experience for passengers traveling on short-haul flights within France.
Air France Domestic Business Class Gets Improved Catering
Starting from February 2024, Air France has revamped its domestic business class catering by introducing boxed meals for short-haul flights. The menu, developed in collaboration with Chef François Adamski, features a variety of options tailored to the time of day.
Meal Selection
For flights departing before 10 AM, passengers can enjoy breakfast with sandwiches filled with ingredients like smoked salmon and cream cheese with dill, accompanied by a breakfast pastry. On flights leaving after 10 AM, lunch or dinner will be served, featuring a signature sandwich such as smoked paprika chicken and tarragon vegetables on granary bread, along with French sweets and desserts like calisson, cannelé, or tropézienne. Additionally, all flights will offer drinks served in proper glassware, a notable upgrade from the previous plastic cups.
Monthly Rotation and Sustainability
The menu will undergo monthly rotations, ensuring a diverse culinary experience for frequent travelers. The meal boxes, specifically designed for Air France business class, will be complemented by the standard selection of drinks, including wine and champagne. Air France emphasizes its commitment to promoting French cuisine and moving upmarket with this new catering initiative. Furthermore, the airline has implemented sustainable practices by sorting food waste onboard and subjecting the boxes to methanization for reprocessing purposes.

Why These Boxed Meals Are an Improvement
Despite initial reservations about the concept of boxed meals, Air France’s move towards enhancing the domestic business class dining experience has garnered positive attention. While the airline’s short-haul international catering remains unchanged, the introduction of boxed meals is exclusive to domestic flights within France.
Previously, Air France’s short-haul business class catering was limited, reflecting the reduced number of domestic flights due to regulatory restrictions. With the new boxed meal concept, the airline aims to elevate the dining experience for passengers on these specific routes, showcasing its dedication to providing quality service.
By collaborating with Chef François Adamski and emphasizing the use of sustainable packaging, Air France is aligning its catering strategy with contemporary culinary trends and environmental consciousness. This initiative not only enhances the in-flight dining experience but also underscores the airline’s commitment to culinary excellence and sustainability.
