AC/DC recently wrapped up their “Power Up” European tour, which concluded on August 17, 2024, at Croke Park in Dublin, Ireland. This tour marked a significant milestone for the band, as it was their first tour featuring the new lineup, which includes original members Brian Johnson and Angus Young, along with Stevie Young on rhythm guitar, Matt Laug on drums, and Chris Chaney on bass.

The European tour was a monumental success and marked AC/DC’s return to the stage after their performance at last year’s Power Trip festival in Indio, California. The band’s last major tour, which took place in 2015 and 2016, grossed an impressive $180 million and saw over 2.3 million tickets sold, according to Pollstar.

Matt Laug, the new drummer for AC/DC, has an extensive background in the music industry, having played with notable artists such as Alanis Morissette, Alice Cooper, and SLASH’S SNAKEPIT. His addition to the band has been met with enthusiasm, and fans are eager to see how his drumming style will enhance AC/DC’s legendary sound.

While the band has not provided specific details regarding the absence of longtime drummer Phil Rudd, who contributed to the recording of their comeback album, “Power Up,” released in November 2020, the new lineup is poised to deliver an unforgettable experience for fans across North America.

As excitement builds for the upcoming tour, rock enthusiasts are reminded of AC/DC’s enduring legacy and their ability to captivate audiences with their powerful music and electrifying performances. With a mix of classic hits and new material, the “Power Up” North American tour is set to be a landmark event in the world of rock music.
