Abdi Nageeye Wins NN Rotterdam Marathon Title in Dutch Record Time

Abdi Nageeye has once again proven himself as the King of Rotterdam by clinching the NN Rotterdam Marathon title in a remarkable Dutch record time of 2:04:45. The NN Running Team athletes dominated the elite men’s and women’s races, securing four out of the six podium positions.

Abdi Nageeye, at 35 years old, shaved off 11 seconds from his previous national record set in 2022. His teammate Birhanu Legese also put up an impressive performance, finishing third with a time of 2:05:16.

In the women’s race, NN Running Team athletes from Kenya, Viola Kibiwott (2:20:57) and Selly Chepyego (2:22:46), claimed second and third place respectively, following the race winner Ashete Bekere (2:19:30) in a fiercely competitive battle in Rotterdam.

The men’s race saw the leaders maintain a strong pace, with the lead group dwindling as the race progressed. Nageeye and Legese showcased their dominance, eventually securing the top positions in a thrilling finish.

At the Boston Marathon, NN Running Team athlete Mohamed Huseyidin displayed a remarkable performance by moving from fifth place to clinch second in the men’s race. Despite starting behind, Huseyidin executed a smart tactical race, finishing strong over the final 5km to claim a podium spot.

With NN Running Team athletes shining in both Rotterdam and Boston, it was a weekend of triumphs and outstanding performances for the talented runners.
