D23 Announces Extraordinary Line Up of 2024 Disney Legends Award Honorees
D23, the ultimate Disney fan event, has announced the extraordinary line up of honorees for the 2024 Disney Legends Award. The event will conclude with a spectacular awards ceremony, hosted by renowned host Ryan Seacrest, to celebrate visionaries and talent at the forefront of their fields.
The Disney Legends Award is the highest honor bestowed by the Walt Disney Company, recognizing individuals who have made extraordinary creative contributions across the worlds of Disney. This year’s honorees include Colleen Atwood, Angela Bassett, Martha Blanding, James L. Brooks, James Cameron, Jamie Lee Curtis, Miley Cyrus, Steve Ditko, Harrison Ford, Mark Henn, Frank Oz, Kelly Ripa, Joe Rohde, and John Williams.
The awards ceremony will take place at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, as part of the three-day D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in August 2024. The program is a 37-year tradition of The Walt Disney Company, with a history of honoring remarkable individuals such as Fred MacMurray in 1987.
Colleen Atwood, known for her visually evocative work in movies like Alice in Wonderland (2010), has been nominated for an Academy Award® a dozen times and has won four Oscars®. Her designs for movies have been described as both fantastical and fabulous, creating her own Wonderland.
