The Price Chopper supermarket in Taylor, Lackawanna Co. is scheduled to permanently close its doors in April, the company announced. Blaine Bringhurst, President of Price Chopper/Market 32, stated in a press release, “We have a long history in the community and are grateful to all of our teammates and customers who have supported us over the years. It’s never easy to close a store, and we rarely do, but we have an obligation to make business decisions that support the company’s continued health and growth.”

All 85 employees, including 23 full-time and 62 part-time workers, have been offered positions at other stores in the Scranton/Wilkes Barre area, ensuring that the impact of the closure on employment is minimized.
