Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, and Ty Dolla $ign’s latest track ‘Carnival,’ featuring Rich the Kid and Playboi Carti, has soared to the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This achievement marks Ye’s fifth chart-topping hit and Ty Dolla $ign’s second, while also serving as the first No. 1 for Rich the Kid and Playboi Carti.

Notably, Ye has extended his reign of Hot 100 No. 1s to over 20 years, making him the first rap artist to accomplish this remarkable feat. Additionally, he has made history as the first rapper to achieve No. 1 hits in three distinct decades – the 2000s, ’10s, and ’20s.

The Billboard Hot 100 chart incorporates a blend of all-genre U.S. streaming, radio airplay, and sales data. ‘Carnival’ secured the top position with 33.7 million streams, a notable 4% increase, along with 3.9 million radio airplay audience impressions, marking an impressive 85% surge. Furthermore, the track recorded 3,000 downloads, representing a 15% rise in the March 1-7 tracking week.

‘Carnival’ has also claimed the top spot on the Streaming Songs chart for the third consecutive week and has surged to a new high, climbing from 19 to 13 on the Digital Song Sales chart.

The track was released as part of Ye and Ty Dolla $ign’s collaborative album, ‘Vultures 1,’ under Ye’s YZY label. The album made its debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and maintained its position for two weeks, and currently holds the No. 3 spot in its fourth week on the list.

Ye’s impressive track record includes previous chart-toppers such as ‘E.T.’ with Katy Perry, ‘Stronger,’ ‘Gold Digger’ featuring Jamie Foxx, and ‘Slow Jamz’ with Twista and Jamie Foxx. Notably, ‘Carnival’ marks Ye’s quickest ascent to the No. 1 position, achieving the feat in just four weeks, surpassing the seven-week journey of ‘E.T.’

Meanwhile, Ty Dolla $ign previously secured a No. 1 spot on the Hot 100 in June 2018 with his feature on Post Malone’s ‘Psycho.’
