IU Basketball Offers Three 2026 Prospects During Weekend Visits

Indiana University had an eventful weekend as they hosted three class of 2026 prospects, all of whom received scholarship offers from the IU basketball program. The three high school sophomores who were extended offers by head coach Mike Woodson and the IU staff are Jalen Montonati, Anthony Thompson, and Alex Smith.

Jalen Montonati, a 6-foot-7 standout from Oklahoma, is a consensus national top-20 prospect and holds a 5-star rating from multiple outlets. His impressive profile has garnered attention, and his visit to IU adds another dimension to his recruitment journey.

Anthony Thompson, a 6-foot-7 wing from Lebanon, Ohio, is averaging 15.1 points and 8.1 rebounds while shooting 48.7 percent overall and 29.7 percent from three. Despite not appearing in the early 2026 rankings, Thompson’s potential has attracted offers from Ohio State and Illinois, in addition to Indiana.

Alex Smith, a 6-foot-8 prospect from Columbus, Ohio, received his fourth Division 1 offer from Indiana University during his visit. Smith, who also holds interest from other major programs, expressed his gratitude towards the IU coaching staff following an engaging conversation with Coach Woodson.

These offers mark significant developments in the recruitment process for these talented young athletes, and their visits to IU reflect the program’s commitment to identifying and nurturing promising talent.
