Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising Version 1.21 Update Features 2B from Nier: Automata as Playable Character

Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising is set to receive a major update with the release of Version 1.21, featuring the highly anticipated addition of Nier: Automata’s 2B as a playable character. The update, announced by Cygames, also includes a new gameplay trailer showcasing 2B’s abilities.

Preceding the arrival of the new DLC character, Granblue Fantasy Versus will undergo server maintenance from 5–8 p.m. PT, during which online features will be temporarily unavailable.

Aside from the introduction of 2B, the update addresses input delay issues specific to the PlayStation 5 version of the game, aiming to bring it in line with other platforms. The adjustments made to the game also extend to several existing characters, including Lucilius, Avatar Belial, Nier, Grimnir, and others, with universal changes to input buffering and other mechanics.

The update also brings a range of new content, such as music tracks, weapon skins, badges, titles, card designs, stickers, and Figure Studio poses and expressions for 2B, available for unlock as players progress in the game.

Furthermore, the update enhances the online experience by adding Oceania as a selectable server in online Ranked and Casual Matches, along with a network quality indicator (RTT) to provide more information on network performance prior to matches. Weekly challenges have also been introduced, offering players the opportunity to earn in-game currency by completing these challenges.

With the release of Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising Version 1.21, players can expect an array of new features and improvements, further enhancing the gameplay experience for fans of the popular fighting game.
