TCL Unveils New AR Smart Glasses: Nxtwear S Plus

TCL has unveiled its latest innovation in the form of the TCL Nxtwear S Plus, a new pair of AR smart glasses offering a range of exciting features. Priced at $399 / £399 / AU$699, these glasses are a follow-up to the TCL Nxtwear S, with notable improvements that make them stand out in the market.

Similar to their predecessors, the TCL Nxtwear S Plus glasses can be connected to compatible devices such as phones or consoles, allowing users to enjoy their favorite shows, games, films, or apps on a large virtual screen. The glasses feature OLED displays with Full-HD resolution for 2D visuals (1920 x 1080 pixels) and 3D pictures with a resolution of 3840 x 1080 pixels.

One of the key upgrades in the TCL Nxtwear S Plus is the enhanced brightness, now offering 600 nits compared to the 400-nit TCL Nxtwear S, and 100 more than the 500-nit Xreal Air 2 Pro specs. This improvement promises more vivid colors and better contrast in the displayed picture. Additionally, the dual displays now support a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz, providing smoother visuals compared to the previous 60Hz.

Furthermore, the new TCL Nxtwear S Plus smart glasses weigh a mere 87g, 2g lighter than their predecessors, making them exceptionally lightweight and comfortable to wear.

However, potential buyers should be cautious about a couple of factors before making a purchase. While the improvements are promising, it is advisable to consider user reviews and firsthand experiences before investing in the TCL Nxtwear S Plus glasses. One potential concern is the issue of heat, as the previous model experienced discomfort due to heat buildup. Additionally, the need for adapters to connect the glasses to devices may incur additional costs, making it essential for consumers to weigh the overall value of the product.

Overall, the TCL Nxtwear S Plus offers an exciting array of features and improvements, making it a compelling option for those interested in AR smart glasses. With its enhanced display quality, increased brightness, and improved refresh rate, TCL continues to push the boundaries of AR technology.
